First Run

When you first launch NoteDrop, you'll see a welcome guide that walks you through setup.

Welcome Wizard

The onboarding wizard guides you through six pages:

  1. Welcome

    Introduction to NoteDrop and its core concept: create file notes in seconds, right where they belong.

  2. Industry Selection

    Choose your profession (Legal, Medical, Real Estate, Accounting, Generic, or Simple). Labels, folder parsing and presets adapt to how you work.

  3. Your Details

    Firm and author names, shown on the letterhead of every file note.

  4. Folder Access

    Grant access to your top-level projects folder once, so notes save without prompting each time.

  5. Finder Extension

    Enable the optional Finder extension to add "New File Note" to your right-click menu and detect the folder you're viewing.

  6. Ready

    A recap of the three ways to start a note from anywhere: menu bar, keyboard shortcut, and Finder right-click.
