File notes, straight into the folder they belong in.
NoteDrop is a macOS menu bar app. Right-click a project folder — or press ⌃⌥⌘N — write the note, save. A dated, numbered PDF or Markdown file lands in the folder, named to convention, with the reference and client read from the folder name.

Start a note from anywhere inside a project and NoteDrop resolves the right save location. The subfolder it files into, and how project folders are recognised — numeric prefix, any parseable name, or manual — are configurable. Presets exist for legal, medical, real estate and accounting practices; everything the parser reads becomes the note's letterhead.
The note
Spoke with client regarding timeline. Confirmed details are correct, advised on next steps, scheduled follow-up for next week.
PDF, Markdown with YAML frontmatter, or both. Bold, italic and lists carry through to the PDF; long notes flow across pages. Telephone attendances can record a duration, rounded to your billing unit. One click reaches macOS dictation. Drafts are saved as you type, so nothing is lost to a crash or a stray Escape.
Private by construction
Notes are ordinary files written directly into your folders — NoteDrop keeps no copy, runs no cloud, and sends no analytics. The only network use is the update check. Signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Remove the app and every note stays exactly where it is.
