First Run

When you first launch NoteDrop, you'll see a welcome guide that walks you through setup.

Welcome Wizard

The onboarding wizard guides you through:

  1. Welcome

Introduction to NoteDrop and its core concept.

  2. Industry Selection

Choose your profession (Legal, Medical, Real Estate, Accounting, or Generic). This configures PDF labels and folder parsing.

  3. Accessibility Permission

Grant accessibility permission so the global keyboard shortcut works from any application.

  4. Finder Extension

Instructions for enabling the optional Finder extension for right-click access.

  5. Quick Actions

Learn about Quick Actions — the easiest way to create notes from Finder.

Accessibility Permission

For the global keyboard shortcut (N) to work, NoteDrop needs accessibility permission.

  1. Click "Open System Settings"

In the onboarding wizard, click the button to open System Settings.

  2. Enable NoteDrop

Find NoteDrop in the list and toggle it on. You may need to unlock settings first.

  3. Return to NoteDrop

The wizard will automatically detect when permission is granted.

Note: If you skip this step, you can still use NoteDrop via the menu bar and Finder context menu — only the global keyboard shortcut is affected.

Reopening the Wizard

You can access the welcome guide anytime from the menu bar: NoteDrop → Welcome Guide
